
About Emerson
Emerson Magaña began his musical journey early on, influenced by his father and later entered the Institute of Fine Arts of the State of Colima, Mexico. After four years of dedicated training, he graduated as a Classical Guitar Master, marking the beginning of his musical career.

Emerson has participated in major cultural events, jazz festivals, seminars, and master classes in Mexico alongside renowned musicians such as Ken Bassman, Tom Kessler, Aarón Cruz, and Antonio Sánchez. His versatility has led him to collaborate with various national and international artists across a range of genres, including jazz, blues, rock, and traditional Latin styles.
​Emerson’s distinguished career has also taken him to luxury venues throughout Mexico such as Hacienda San Antonio, Cuixmala, Costa Careyes and Four Seasons, where he has performed for high-profile clients.

He has written and composed original songs including “Tequila Time,” “Cumbia del Mar,” and “Give Me Your Love” which are all part of his new album.
​Since relocating to St. Louis, Emerson has made a significant impact on the local music scene and has become a sought-after performer at local festivals and special events, representing Latin music and culture with passion and authenticity.
He is a key member of Gipsy Social, a highly acclaimed group that covers music by Buena Vista Social Club and Gipsy Kings. Additionally, Emerson is actively involved in another exciting project with the STL Latin Trio who bring the vibrant sounds of Latin America to life.
His musical career includes collaborations with venues such as Jazz St. Louis where he was the Master of Ceremonies for their prestigious fundraiser featuring Latin Jazz legends, Paquito D’Rivera and Chucho Valdés. He also was one of the featured performers in the pre-show for 'Evita' at The Muny, further highlighting his growing influence in St. Louis' thriving arts community.
